The 2016 BZ Summer Team

We’ve gathered an incredibly talented team to assist in all our ventures.

Meet our 4 new team members:

adamADAM BAKER

industrial designer

I am a problem-seeking, problem-solving industrial designer. I have been told that I have a curious mind ever since I was very young, so I love to explore and learn about the world around me. I am an avid automotive and motorsports enthusiast. I graduated this past spring from Cedarville University right outside Dayton, Ohio.

Where are you from originally? How did you find your way to BZ?

I am originally from Rochester, and found BZ from my experience at RIT’s Thought at Work conference and pursued them until they finally responded.

Besides making awesome design dreams come true at BZ Design, what other hobbies do you have?

I like working on and customizing cars, bikes, and other motorized toys. I like to visit thrift stores for old tech as well, and I also enjoy simulator racing games.

What makes BZDesign stand out to you?

I think BZ design is unique because of its spread. Not everyone is working in the same place on the same thing but designers and specialists from all over are working on awesome projects.

If you were an animal what would it be and why?

I would be a greyhound. They’re fast and strong, yet kind and obedient.

How do you eat a sandwich?

With two hands and my mouth.

Trupti PomajeTRUPTI POMAJE

industrial designer | electronics

My major is Industrial Design and I completed my undergrad in Electronics Engineering which I did not  like as much (Electronics and electrical engineering are separate majors in India :))

Where are you from originally? How did you find your way to BZ?

I am from India, Pune city and I found about BZdesign through RIT career fair.

Besides making awesome design dreams come true at BZ Design, what other hobbies do you have?

Besides design I like dancing and watch videos on youtube 😀

What makes BZDesign stand out to you?

I am glad to be working here, it is a good experience to learn to work on different stages of the project.

If you were an animal what would it be and why?

If I were an animal!! ummmm… I am not sure but I would be a cat and would love to get pampered.

How do you eat a sandwich?

I do eat sandwich but just with veggies as I am a vegetarian.

joshJOSH FIEGL

business development | chemist

I’m a recent graduate from SUNY Geneseo with a Bachelor’s of Science in Chemistry. I grew up in the countryside as the oldest of six children, where I had the dual hobbies of raising chickens and building computers. Age eventually got to the products of both hobbies (neither chickens or computers tend to work well once they get past ten years of age), but I still seeks to keep learning and building. After working with bzdesign, I plan on finding a local job related to chemical research before moving on to graduate-level education.

Where are you from originally? How did you find your way to BZ?

Born and raised in the finger lakes area. Met Ben and the bzdesign team through the Idea2Venture class at SUNY Geneseo during my senior year.

Besides making awesome design dreams come true at BZ Design, what other hobbies do you have?

As you might guess from my major and previous hobbies, I’m your stereotypical nerd with a knack for getting along with animals. I enjoy building with Legos, any board games involving strategy, reading and watching anything sci-fi related, playing video games, and learning about how to apply scientific advances to the real world.

What makes BZDesign stand out to you?

bzdesign stands out to me because it’s a great example of how we can take ideas and scientific knowledge and apply it to the real world in tangible ways. I’ planning on getting an advanced degree in materials science in the near future, and both that field and bzdesign are all about taking things we know and applying them to make people’s lives better.

If you were an animal what would it be and why?

I’d like to be a bald eagle, because flight. But if I kept the same traits I have now I’d probably end up as a big, fluffy, and very lazy cat.

How do you eat a sandwich?

I always eat the crust first to leave the delicious center for last.

Emma EcholsEMMA ECHOLS

graphic designer

I’m a (soon to be graduated!) Graphic Design major from RIT. I obviously care about making kick ass design for clients, but also enjoy pissing off my parents for not becoming a doctor or lawyer. Creativity is in my blood and in my spare time, I paint and think about saving up money to travel to Italy to look at famous art, but likely will just spend my paycheck on food and shoes.

Where are you from originally? How did you find your way to BZ?

I’m originally from middle-of-nowhere-ville Georgia, where I grew up on a cattle ranch with my parents and pets. I wouldn’t trade that upbringing for anything in the world!

I found BZ during a rush for internships this past spring and after interviewing, thought the office would be a perfect fit.

Besides making awesome design dreams come true at BZ Design, what other hobbies do you have?

Besides loving design, I tend to be a mostly artistically inclined individual and my hobbies reflect that. I make movie and game replica costumes in my spare time actually! I also enjoy playing video games and recently developed a love for surfing, the first outdoor sport I’ve ever enjoyed in my life.

What makes BZDesign stand out to you?

BZDesign stands out for great people and a willingness to tackle just about anything! To me, this is an ideal balance of ambition and the chance to learn new things while constantly creating new great products for clients.

If you were an animal what would it be and why?

I’d definitely be a ferret because I kind of look like a rodent and they’re feisty and energetic. Hopefully I don’t smell as bad as they do!!

How do you eat a sandwich?

Cut down the middle into two triangles, eat up to the crust, and discard it. Definitely still 5 years old at heart.
