Designing for Impact: Collaboration with Phase Innovations on an Energy-Neutral Air Purifier

Starting with a foundation of mood boards to capture aesthetic inspiration, our BZDesign industrial design team embarked on developing the external housing for Phase Innovations’ groundbreaking energy-neutral air purifier. With a focus on both form and function, we began by sketching concepts and constructing foam core models, allowing the client to explore various design directions. After careful review, Phase Innovations selected a concept that embodied both their brand and technological vision.

With a clear direction in hand, our team advanced to CAD modeling, creating precise geometry that seamlessly integrated with the purifier’s internal components. Leveraging our in-house 3D printing capabilities, we produced a scaled prototype that aligned the outer design with the internal electronics, resulting in a fully functional model. This prototype became a powerful asset for Phase Innovations, enabling them to showcase their technology at a tradeshow, where they could demonstrate the purifier’s unique, energy-neutral functionality to a wider audience.

The Process

Design Exploration & Refinement Our process began with broad explorations, which we narrowed and refined based on client feedback, ensuring that the final design met all visual and functional criteria.

CAD Modeling & Product Renders

From detailed CAD geometry to high-resolution product renderings, we brought the selected design to life, capturing both form and function in realistic visuals.

Prototyping & Realization

Through 3D printing and iterative prototyping, we delivered a tangible model that allowed Phase Innovations to present their innovative purifier effectively, helping to communicate its advanced features and eco-friendly technology.

Our collaboration with Phase Innovations underscores the impact of thoughtful design in bringing pioneering technologies to life. From early sketches to a fully functional prototype, each phase of this project highlighted our commitment to aligning form with functionality. We’re excited to see how Phase Innovations continues to use this design to communicate the power and promise of sustainable air purification, and we look forward to supporting more innovations that prioritize both user experience and environmental responsibility.
